Lois Murfin-Bacon went to be with our Lord, Jan. 14, 2011 at the age of 91. She married John Murfin on Dec. 20, 1937. They resided in Kirksville. MO until 1953 when they moved to Liberty, MO. Lois worked for Safeway Grocery in Liberty, retiring in 1984. Her husband John passed away in 1979. She moved to San Antonio, TX in 1985 to be near her family. In 1989 she married Harold Bacon of Marshalltown, IA. They shared residences in Marshalltown and San Antonio. They were active members of Eisenhauer Baptist Church in San Antonio. She is preceded in death by her parents and both husbands. She is survived by her son Allen Murfin (Evelyn) of Holly Lake Ranch, TX, daughter Kay Holzmann (Tom) of San Antonio, 6 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, Sisters Lola Samuelson of Minonk, IL; Cleeta Steidel of State Line, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. The family is most grateful for the care given Lois at Esplanade Gardens Assisted Living and Serenity Senior Home Care. A memorial service will be held at a later date in San Antonio. A private burial will be in La Plata, MO.
