

Luis T. Flores went to meet his Heavenly Father on April, 7, 2015. Luis was born June 19, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas. His parents were Luis Cardenas Flores and Maria Tudon Flores. He graduated from Fox Technical School in 1949 and entered the US Army in 1950. Luis served in Korea in wartime; distinguished himself and was honorably discharged. Upon his return he became an apprentice at Kelly AFB then transferred to Randolph AFB in 1956. At Randolph AFB he met and married Frances deLa Garza and was happily married for 56 years. Luis entered the data automation field starting as a card punch operator in the era of mainframes. He progressed through many different jobs as his career developed. Luis ultimately retired as a General Manager at Kelly AFB. During his career he received many awards and concurrently received a degree at Texas State University. He also was a professor at San Antonio college and also taught all aspects of the computer field at local business colleges. During his tenure at Randolph AFB he was assigned to the Air Force Military personnel teams that traveled throughout the US to implement computer systems. He coached Tri-City baseball and through tournaments progressed to State championships. He was an extra-ordinary Minister of Holy Communion not only at St. Monica's church in Converse but also at San Fernando cathedral in San Antonio where he met Father Dennis as well as a Eucharistic Minister for the sick and elderly. He was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. After his retirement from Kelly AFB he served as Eucharistic Minister and mass communion server. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr & Mrs Luis Flores and oldest son Richard M. Flores. He leaves behind three children: Raymond Flores, Luis Flores and Loretta Acosta; eight grandchildren: Melody, Nicole, Anthony, Rachel, Jacob, Charlene, Melissa and Dominic and four siblings: Yolanda Stewart, Hector Flores, Carlos Flores and Eleanor Dalmut.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Colonial Funeral Home at 6:00 pm, with the Rosary recited at 7:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00am at St. Monica’s Catholic Church, officiated by Father Dennis. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
