

Marjorie C. Castle passed away on January 10, 2011 at the age of 81. She was born April 29, 1929 in Battle, Texas to Cayce and Eva Meadors Coleman. Preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Kenneth Coleman. Survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Arthur Taylor Castle; son, Todd Taylor Castle, his wife Ada; daughter, Dena Kay Gatens, son-in-law, Michael Gatens; grandchildren, Randy Tood Castle, his wife Carrie, Ryan Taylor Castle, Ashby Taylor Gatens, and Garrett Michael Gatens; great-granddaughter, Makenzi Taylor Castle; sister, Mary Frances Henson; brothers, Charles Coleman, Leonard Coleman and Robert Coleman; numerous nieces and nephews. Arthur and Majorie were married at the 1st Baptist Church in 1955, both were active in the Church and Koinia Class. She received her Bachelor’s Degree at Baylor University, Master’s Degree at Trinity where she was President of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority in 1965-66. She was also named the Science Teacher of the Year for the state of Texas in 1980 for grades K-5. She also taught in Alamo Heights School District for over 20 years with Math and Science being her favorite subjects. A visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Thursday, January 13, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00P.M. Funeral Service will be on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A special thanks to Autumn Winds Retirement Lodge for the wonderful love and nursing care they provided for her the last two years.
