

Martin was born on March 5, 1934, in York, Pennsylvania. Martin graduated from William Penn High School in 1952. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for 4 years. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he rose through the ranks to Captain. During that time, he completed a degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Master's from Troy State. He retired from the USAF in 1974 after 26 years of service. After retirement, he served as an instructor in the Criminal Justice Program at San Antonio College, where he attained the academic rank of Professor. Upon retirement from San Antonio College in 1998, he was awarded the honorarium of Professor Emeritus. He continued to teach at the college as an Adjunct Faculty for a few years.
Martin was a voracious reader, an avid golfer, a devotee of jazz, a cook, and a baker of bread. He was a devoted Phillies fan, and he and Marian traveled to many cities in the US and Canada to see the games. They also took a three-week vacation traveling in Europe and Canada.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eloise and Harry Seyler, brothers, Harry E. Seyler, Robert Seyler, son Harry Seyler, and stepson Ronald Korzekwa.
He leaves behind to honor his legacy; his wife, Marian Seyler, stepdaughter, Lynn Lopez, son-in-law, Richard Lopez, granddaughter, Elizabeth, and many nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to; Paul Leckowick, a friend for almost 50 years. Jim Deuser, golfer and lunch buddy with Martin.
A graveside service will be held at the Archdiocese of San Antonio - Holy Cross Cemetery, located at 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX, 78266, on November 4, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
