Nadine Marie Hidalgo

Nadine Marie Hidalgo (Shaffer) passed away on December 20, 2016 at the age of 85. She was born on May 19, 1931 in Connellsville, Pennsylvania to James Burford and Geraldine Shaffer, both of whom preceded her in death along with parents -in-law Hypolite and Willia Hidalgo. She is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 65 years Larry Hidalgo; her 4 children: Cindy and Jim Holmgreen, Debbie Hidalgo, Marcia Hidalgo and Michael Hidalgo; her 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren: J and Sue Holmgreen (Tristan and Ava), David and Andi Holmgreen (Addi), Adreann and Darren Peters (Ryleigh) and Joshua Hidalgo; her sister and brothers: Pat and Joe Gage, Smokey Shaffer and Vincent and Julie Shaffer; her sisters-in-law Birdie Rousse and Barbara Hidalgo; and nieces, nephews and other extended family dear to Nadine. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 27, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 28th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma beginning at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the 2 North, Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit at SAMMC for treating Nadine with such care and dignity in her final days.
