Velia Valdez Watts, age 83, of Live Oak, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2020 from COVID-19 complications. She was born January 26, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas. Where she raised two sons Charlie and Robert. She spent her life working civil engineer at both Lackland Air Force Base and Randolph Air Force Base.
She is survived by her two sisters Maria Luisa Flores and Margarita Novak and brother Humberto Valdez Jr, two sons, Robert Watts and Charlie and Lee Anne Watts, six grandchildren Heather, Laura, Rachel, Emily, Megan, and William and three great grandchildren Embry, Ellie, and Hayden.
She was also preceded in death by her father Humberto Valdez Sr and mother Hermelinda Flores, her brothers Joe Sanchez, Ricardo Valdez, Genaro "Arturo" Sanchez, and sister Maria Delfina Valdez. She was also preceded in death by her beloved animals Frances earlier in the month and General back in January.
A celebration of life memorial service for Velia will be held Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, Texas. The memorial service is also available through a livestream option, if you feel safer staying at home and live streaming feel free to do so. We would rather everyone be safe and livestream but if you wanna physically be at the memorial service in person we do not mind..
