Archie Anthony Sears, Jr., 97, passed away suddenly at his residence on April 23, 2021. He was born on November 20, 1923, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to the late Archie A. and Virgie B. Sears.
Archie began his lifelong career at Nolde’s Bakery in Richmond directly out of high school and continued to manage multiple plants for 36 years until Nolde’s closed in 1977. He retired from Mary Jane Bakery in 1988.
A true Renaissance Man, Archie excelled at all he attempted. In addition to his diverse building and repair projects, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.
Above all, Archie was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was preceded in death by his late wife Audrey; his siblings, Helen Margaret, Juanita, and Cecil; and his great granddaughter, Emersyn.
Left to cherish his memories are his three sons, David, Keith, and Mark Sears; three siblings, Barbara Jean Dance, Robert Ellis Sears, and Joan Padgett Robinson; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Rosewood – Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach. Interment in Rosewood Memorial Park.
