Bailey T. Parker Jr.

Virginia Beach – Baily T. Parker Jr., passed away on December 16, 2010. He was born on October 26, 1926 to the late Margaret L. and Baily T. Parker Sr. in Norfolk, VA. He was married to the late Marion W. Parker. Bailey T. Parker was a loving and caring father to his three children: Carolyn Parker (deceased), Barbara Parker wife of R. Morton Miller of Gulf Stream, FL, and Bailey T. Parker III. He will always be remembered by his three grandchildren, Bailey T. Parker IV, Karlynn Blakeley Parker and Hailey Wells Parker; and his nephew, Lloyd Lester Robinson Jr. He was supported by his most devoted staff Thelma, Lynda, and Leah. Mr. Parker went to work in the Naval Air Station but joined the Merchant Marine during the war. He returned to the Naval Air Station after the war, and quickly started his construction business, building many homes in Norfolk and Virginia Beach. He was an entrepreneur and proceeded to develop land, and establish his real estate business. He was President of Bailey T. Parker Construction Corp, Parker Realty, and formerly owned Parker Cadillac. Mr. Parker was a member of a Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner. He served as a member and chairman of the Virginia Beach Planning Commission. He co-founded the Virginia Beach MLS Board. Mr. Parker was active on the local real estate board as well as serving on the state board. He also served on the Salvation Army Board. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December, 21, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
