I will miss seeing Betty whenever I go to vote. She was always there to greet me by name. And as I was walking over to vote I would hear her telling her fellow volunteers what a nice man I was. Coming from Betty, that was the ultimate compliment and always made me smile. She would be a friendly face in the audience during civic league meetings. Betty was always a voice of reason and support. Lately, I adopted a dog that would only walk in the park. There I would see Betty and her beloved dog Nikki. I will miss their company. Rest in peace Betty and Nikki, the park won't be the same without  you. 


Betty was a sweetheart who kept all of us Garden Club members up-to-date and in attendance  faithfully every month !  Her’s was a reassuring voice on the phone as a reminder monthly and such a friendly person at our meetings. We lived next door to Betty for 23 years. Saying she was a good neighbor is an understatement. We knew she was always there when we needed her. She was our eyes when we were away. She delighted the neighbors with the Birthday flag and the dogs with holiday treats.   Betty made our street a neighborhood. She meet the new neighbors, she noticed new cars, and she talked to everyone.  While your impact was felt in the organizations you joined, your impact was felt in our hearts.  

I met Betty when she hired me to work at Atlantic Shipping and Packaging.  Although I left the company before she retired, we kept in touch.  When Betty retired in 1997, she had a little “get together” with a few of her friends to celebrate.  Betty suggested we have a potluck once a month to keep in touch.  Our “Potluck Club” has continued to this day and I am a proud member of that club.  We have been though many things together, some very happy girl times in the Outer Banks, laughing and enjoying each other’s company and some sad times as well, but we are always there for one another.  We will miss our “Bossy Betty” as we like to call her.  We know that you have been reunited with your true love, Willie and will be keeping an eye on us from above

Betty was a loyal friend.  Always actively involved in many different groups. Her neighbors knew her well and I am grateful for that.  I met Betty in the Fairfield Garden Club. I  enjoyed her company there and  sewing with the  CHKD Princess Anne Circle.  We attended  the Sandler musicals as well.  She was happy and always willing to help. She will be deeply missed.  May she rest in God's peace now with her husband and her Nikki. 

Old friend of mine, we met in 1970, as both were just married. We had so many memories living on Bancker Rd.  As you moved to Virginia Beach, I did  the same a few years later.   Through the years we remained friends, then I moved to Smithfield, Va. and we didn’t see each other as often, but we still remained friends. You will always be my friend.  Rest In Peace,  I know you are so happy to be with Willie again.


I will miss my friend, retired former office manager, my potluck friend where we meet once a month on a Sunday for over 25 years.  Betty was always there for any of us and I will miss her GREATLY!  Rest in peace Betty and glad you are with Willie now.  Love you forever!!
