Charlie T. Woodall, Jr.

Virginia Beach - Charlie T. Woodall, Jr., 90, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was comforted by his wife of 66 years by his side. Charlie was born in Gladys, VA on Nov. 14, 1924 to the late Charlie T. Woodall, Sr. and Dorothy Woodall. Moving to the Tidewater area as a small child, he was a lifelong resident. He served in the Navy during WWII and returned home and was employed at the Norfolk Naval Air Station until his retirement. Charlie loved nature and always had a large garden which he shared with friends and neighbors. He loved his church, Bayside Baptist. He loved God, his country and family. Charlie delivered Meals on Wheels for over 40 years in the Tidewater area and never tired of helping others. Charlie is survived by the love of his life his wife, Carrie M. Woodall; one daughter, Wanda Bailey of Denver, CO. He is preceded in death by his sister, Violet Elliott. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 3, 2015 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home.
