Debbie was a woman who could not be easily shaken, known by all who loved her as one of the toughest and strongest people they had ever met. She faced life head-on, with grit and determination, and was truly a force to be reckoned with. At the same time, she carried a deep love for her family that defined who she was at her core. She found peace and joy in the simple things, especially spending time fishing, something she truly loved. But nothing brought her more happiness than her family.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Cheyenne Spratley, and was a proud and loving grandmother to Noah, Jai, Niko, Tara, Emma, and Alyssa, all of whom she cherished deeply. Debbie is also survived by her loving sisters, Michelle Pre-Genzer and Toni Taylor, her niece Sena Scott and her nephews: Brian Morgan, Cody Pre-Genzer, and Michael Jones. She was preceded in death by her sister, Cheri Pre-Genzer and nephews Jason Jones and Eddie Scott III. She is also survived by her dear friends, Amy Jennings, Taylor Faison-Hatlan, Caroline Groome, Casey Nobles, Tonya McEwen and plenty of other loving close friends. She also leaves behind her longtime partner of over 25 years, Jimmy Taylor, who stood by her side through life’s many chapters.
Her strength, love, and unforgettable presence will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, May 9, 2026, Little Island Park at Sandbridge beach in Virginia beach, Shelter #1.
