Virginia Beach- Dorothy Adkins Mathews, 90, passed away on July 1, 2011. She was born on March, 7 1921 to the late Robert and Mary Adkins in Bluefield, VA. She is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Henry F. Mathews, and daughter, Bernice Mathews Stephens.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Larry Mathews, Kenneth Mathews, Roger Mathews, and Randy Mathews; daughters, Bettie Mathews Newman, Joyce Williamson, Rita White, Martha Stewart, and Pamela Buchholtz; brothers, Raymond Adkins and Thomas Adkins; sisters, Alene Barrett and Virgie Isabelle Ward; She also has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. .
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 12:00 pm at Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462. A visitation will be one hour prior. A private burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
