I had the pleasure  of talking with Eleanor  several  times when she was visiting  my friends, Angela & Tom.  One time I brought  her a pineapple upside-down  cake. 
I loved talking  to her.  
Shortly after the  visit, I received  apersonal  thank you note  thanking me for the cake & my visit.
She was a lady of grace & wisdom.


I was her helper and we had many interesting endeavors. Prayers and many blessings to her family.

Tom, thank you for the letter.  I had seen the notice in the paper.  I was glad to hear that she was not sick long.  I'm sorry that I won't be able to attend her funeral as I will be in Philadelphia this weekend.  Please know that I'm thinking about you and your family.  Mom thought of your Mom as her best friend. She was my dear aunt that I loved dearly.   I will miss hearing her voice and sharing memories of my childhood with her. She was married to my mother's brother and our families were always together ❤ all through  my life for the past 75 years.  She loved to play cards with friends and loved her dog Beans.
She now has a star in her name that can be seen in the night sky.
She has a wonderful blessed son who took care of her every  needs.

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of Mrs. Newcomb.  Eleanor was my mother’s best (Irene Eanes) friend.  My mother loved Eleanor dearly and enjoyed sitting with her and her sweet dog Beans.   They were true friends for more than 60 years.    I am very thankful for her endless kindness to my mother.    Jaqueline Columbia

Mrs. Newcomb was still driving at 98 when I met her and she was bringing her little dog Beans to my shop for grooming. I thought she was a amazing woman, when she stopped driving I would pick up and deliver Beans. I always enjoyed taking time to talk to her when I would bring Beans home. She had such a wonderful quality of life that few older folks have. I felt it such a gift to actually know someone her age and have such good conversations with. My condolences to Tom and family.
