George Walker Turner Sr.

George Walker Turner, Sr. (79) went to his eternal rest in the early morning hours of Friday, November 13, 2020 after having been surrounded by his loving family. George was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to the late Governor and Margaret Turner. Shortly following his high school graduation in 1962, George proudly enlisted in the United States Navy and served an adventurous 30 years. That same year, George met the love of his life, Mary Ann Reed, and they were married the following year and shared 58 beautiful years of matrimony. George was a family man who always included his family in his adventures. He loved to travel, was an avid fisherman and hunter, and had a knack for working on antique cars. Most notably, he was a very kind, hard working, and sociable man. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Ann; his son, George W. Turner, Jr.; his daughter, Angela Turner; his granddaughter, Kali Turner; his brother, Jerry Turner and his wife, Karen Turner; and an extended family. He is now joined with his son, Billy Turner; and his brother, Carroll Turner. The family will receive guests on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 12pm to 1pm for a visitation at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, with a chapel service at 1pm, followed by the rendering of military honors and interment within the Rosewood Memorial Park.
