Hazel Butt, went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2012. She was a real catbird. One you had to know and love. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry S. Butt, Sr., daughter, Carolyn Marie Shires; parents, John R. and Mirey Dooley; brother, Alfred, and half-sister, Rose. Hazel will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Patricia Chaney and husband John; son, Sam Butt, Jr., and wife Melodie; 5 grandchildren, Frankie Bailey, Lisa Brauswetter, Brooke Saltus, Eric Chaney and Holly Alison Butt; 3 great-grandchildren, Tamara Goode, Madeleine and Brenna Saltus; and 1 great-great grandson, Skyler Robison as well as other loving relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, Jan. 16, from 7 – 8:30 PM in Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road in Virginia Beach. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan 17, at 2 PM in the funeral home with burial to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
