He was retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, and was currently employed with Virginia Beach Public Schools as a craftsman. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, and had lived in Virginia Beach for the past 27 years, where he was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, a member of Knights of Columbus Council #4632 and a member of the Fleet Reserve Post #20.
Mr. Reutzel is survived by his wife Veronica Reutzel, son, Henry James Reutzel, of New Orleans, LA, three daughters, Veronica Teresa Balfanz, of Virginia Beach, Denise Marie Anderson, of MD, and Isabelle Agnes Hood, of Birmingham, AL, five grandchildren, one brother Charles Reutzel, of Meadville, PA, and five sisters, Cecelia Foor, Marie Horn, Nancy Jackson, Virginia Amend, all of Pittsburgh, PA, and Janie Parker, of Guy Mills, PA, several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2000 at 11:00 AM, by the Rev. Edward L. Richardson, at Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening between 7-9 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
