Herbert Lee Green, Sr.

Herbert was born in Norfolk, Virginia (Lamberts Point Area). Herbert, retired from the United States Air Force in 1967 as a Master Sergeant. He also retired from Civil Service, as the Maintenance Control Director for Public Works Department at Dam Neck Naval Station in 1988. He received numerous awards and decorations while serving in Korea and Viet Nam. Herbert was a graduate of the 2nd AF Non-Commissioned Officers Academy at Barksdale AFB Louisana.

Herbert is survived by his beloved wife Erma Tillery Green of 70 years, son Herbert (Bert) Green, Jr., and wife Jane Beth, daughter Vickie Foster and husband Joe Few; 1 grandson John Foster and wife Hope and great granddaughters Grace Elizabeth and Lucy Rose; 2 sisters Ola L. Nieman and Julia Ann Woolsey; a brother Robert Lawrence (Larry) Green and his wife Debbie and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Erving and mother Ola Lane Green and sister Margaret Howenton and a brother Buddy Green.

Herbert was a Born Again Christian and was a member of the Virginia Beach Community Chapel.

A Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 10a.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
