Irma Ruth Smith

Irma Ruth Smith, 81, was called home to be a beautiful angel on March 12, 2017. Ruth was a loving Wife, Mother and the best Grammy God could have blessed this earth with. A long-time member of Kempsville Church of Christ and Sunday school teacher for over 25 years, she led a life devoted to the Lord. Ruth was a loving and giving soul who has blessed so many lives. She had a smile that would light up a room. She will be greatly missed. Ruth is predeceased by her loving husband, Charles W. Smith, sister and brothers. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a son, Allen Smith and wife, Lizabeth, of Atwater, CA; a daughter, Teresa Rudy of Lanexa; seven grandchildren, Heather Birmingham, Sean Kingsbury, Jonathan Smith, all of Virginia Beach, Bethany Rudy-Stevens and husband, Jon of Norfolk, Daniel Rudy of Lanexa, Jennifer Shaffer and husband of Washington and Laura Northcutt and husband of Oklahoma. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. A celebration of life will immediately follow at the family home. Friends may join the family at Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel, Friday from 6-8:30 p.m.
