Jack Benjamin Richards, 89, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather left his earthly home on November 13, 2015. Born in Moultrie, GA, he grew up on his grandfather’s farm where he lived and worked until joining the U.S. Navy. Rising through the ranks during World War II and the Korean War, he retired as a LCDR after 30 years of service. He went on to work for 17 years at Sears as a service technician before hanging up his tools and retiring.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Therese Richards; daughter, Therese Linda Cooper and husband, Ed; son, Robert J. Richards and wife Kathryn; grandchildren, Tamara, Adam and Robbie; and three great grandchildren, Morgan, Kailey and Abigail.
The family will receive friends during visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. The family requests that donations be considered to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in lieu of flowers.
