James E. Holland, Jr received his wings on July 22, 2024 at the age of 96. He entered the gates of Heaven after struggling with Dementia. James is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Louise Connock; his father, James E. Holland Sr; and his son, Brian Scott Holland.
James leaves behind his wife of 73 years, Cornelia “Ditter” Culp Holland; a daughter, Dana Holland Haase and her husband James, "Haase"; a granddaughter, Jessica Haase Meadows and two great grandsons, Brantley and Gunner Meadows.
He was Presbyterian and was a member of Coleman Place Presbyterian Church in Norfolk before moving to Florida and joining the First Presbyterian Church of Niceville. He was a Mason with Doric Lodge 44 for 68 years which consolidated with Berkeley's Lodge 167, in Norfolk. James retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth as a Machinist. James was a very kind and gentle soul who loved his family with all his heart. James will be missed by many.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 pm, with a graveside funeral on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach VA 23462.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10:00 am.at the First Presbyterian Church, 1800 E John Sims Pkwy, Niceville, FL 32578.
