Mrs. Trotman spent her early years in South Norfolk and graduated from South Norfolk High School in 1951. After a few years as a single working woman, she married Paul Cameron Trotman Jr. in 1954, whom she worked alongside in his business ventures, until they finally settled into real estate. After his passing in 1980, she continued to run Trotman Realty in Great Bridge, VA until she retired. She relocated to Duck, NC to enjoy beach life and traveling. She loved her grandchildren and many great-grandchildren dearly. She was always happiest surrounded by their laughter and enjoyed watching them play on the beach or the decks of her home.
She was a member of the Berkley Chapter No. 52 Order of the Eastern Star for 69 years.
Mrs. Trotman is survived by her sons Paul (Margaret), Kenneth (JoAnn), Mark, and daughter Leigh Anne (Greg), eleven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren (and one more on the way). She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Cameron Trotman Jr., son Gregory, her parents Andrew and Ethel Smith, her brother Andrew and sister Margaret.
Her family would like to thank the Duck Fire Department, Lipton House, and Westminster Canterbury Hospice for their incredible support in providing Mrs. Trotman with care and dignity.
A memorial service will be held at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home April 10, 2024 at 10 am. A private family interment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memoriam to Union Mission Ministries in Norfolk, Va, as this was an organization Mrs. Trotman proudly supported for many years.
