

Janie Richards Reynolds, 87 of Virginia Beach, VA passed away on January 25, 2021. Janie is predeceased by her first husband Bill Knight; second husband, Robert Stewart: third husband, Lloyd Reynolds: son, David Knight and wife Loraine; granddaughter Amber Knight: son-in-law, Steve Jones; brother, Al Richards, Jr and sister, Dean Jones. She is survived by her daughters, Toni Million (Randy) of Va. Beach, VA; Jo Starkey (Jeff) of Garden City, KS; and Laura “Cookie” Jones-Weaver (Buddy) of Chesapeake, VA; sisters, Lola Pope, Bootsie Herder, and Evelyn “Babe” Lyle. She is also survived by 4 step-daughters, Cathy Turner, Kathy Thomas, Carol Rolofson, Darlene Hyle, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Janie was born in Greenville, NC on March 20, 1933 to the late Arthur Lee and Mary Richards. She graduated from Gamewell High School, Lenoir, NC. Employment history includes accountant, customer service rep and day care director. Before suffering from dementia, she was an active member of Avalon Church of Christ. She loved the church and her family deeply. She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was involved in missions and loved going to the beach. Of all the things she loved, she loved Jesus the most and wanted everyone she knew to love him too.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Avalon Church of Christ, 844 Woodstock Road in Va. Beach with visitation at 2pm and service at 3pm officiated by minister, Chris McCarthy. Graveside service will be Wednesday, February 3rd at 10am at Rosewood Memorial Park, Va. Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Avalon Church of Christ or Mid Atlantic Christian University.
