Joanne Louise Banks

Joanne "Joni" Louise Banks, 81, of Virginia Beach, VA, joined her husband, Morris G. Banks, in heaven on March 21, 2021 at home surrounded by family and friends. Born January 6, 1940 in Boston, MA, to the late Frank and Joanna Shaw. A career homemaker and dedicated wife, Joanne was the rock-steady foundation of the household, especially during her husband's many deployments at sea while serving in the Navy. Always selfless, and always putting others first, she had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Joanne is survived by her two sons, Brian Banks and his wife Crystal, of Carrsville, VA, and Christopher Banks of Virginia Beach, VA; 5 grandchildren, Joshua, Savannah, Zane, Jared, and Aiden; and her brother Frank Shaw. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
