

Joe is predeceased by his parents, Jesse and Nancy (Harbin) Baccus; his brothers, Billy Baccus, Augustine Baccus, Johnnie Baccus; his sisters, Lois Webb, Lorene Parr, and Betty Faye Taylor.
Left to cherish his memory are: the love of his life, who he adored greatly for almost 60 years, Keiko Baccus; son, James H. Baccus (and wife, Cynthia); daughter, Betty Donovan (and husband, Steve); grandchildren, Ashley (Donovan) Urunkar (and husband, Brian), Christine Donovan and his loving nieces and nephews.
Joe was drafted into the U.S. Army at an early age and served just shy of 25 years. He then went to work for Glidden Chemical Plant until retirement at age 60.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman. He lived a simple life and loved to hunt and fish. He would spend many Saturday mornings at the VFW enjoying his creamed beef. Joe’s motto was, “Treat people as you would like to be treated; be honest, respectful and always save a dollar”.
There will be a service to celebrate Joe’s life on November 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery at 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, Virginia 23434.
