Julia Elizabeth Riddle

Julia Elizabeth Riddle, 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 in Virginia Beach. Julia was born in Granville County, NC to the late Beetle and Nora Ellington; she is also predeceased by her husband, Thomas Franklin Riddle; son, Timothy Paul Riddle as well as her siblings, Kenny Ellington, Betty Lou Wilson and Charlie Pete Ellington. Julia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She prioritized her life based on her family. Best described as selfless, she often put others before herself. She was a member of the Woman’s Garden Club. She is cherished in memory by her children, Deborah Volzke (Bill) and Ricky S. Riddle (Regina); siblings, Shirley Adams, Sarah Barbour, Becky Williamson, Butch Ellington, Ronnie Ellington and Mike Ellington; grandchildren, Eric, Aaron, Joshua, Daniel, Steven and Alexandra and seven great-grandchildren, Parker, Aaron, Tucker, Lelia, Joshua, Lilian, Leni, David, and Richard.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm, Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. There will be a visitation one hour prior to fellowship with the family and share memories of Julia. Immediately after the service there will be interment at Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to send a special thanks to Juanita Jacobs and Cathy McArthur for their time and dedication to Julia.
