Laura Collins Duncan, age 60, of Virginia Beach, Virginia was transferred to her eternal reward on Saturday, January 2, 2021. Laura, called Laurie by her family, was born October 16, 1960 in Malden, Massachusetts to Florence Ann O’Neill.
She was a devoted wife to Edward E. Duncan and a loving mother to Adam Hall (Sandra), David Hall (Shelly), Jacob Hall, and Matthew Duncan. She was a caring Nana to five grandchildren, Kiersten, Kaylee, Ketner, Kaiden, and Luis Hall.
Laurie became a Christ follower in 1976, which enabled her to be a passionate and dedicated wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, niece, and friend to many. She worked as an office manager for M. E. Dever Roofing Company for 17 years, helping her father administratively run the family business. She enjoyed music and singing in the church choir, reading, comedy, and touched many lives by her compassion, wittiness, and sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Dever; and her brother-in-law, Michael Johnson. She is survived by her dad, Melvin E. Dever (Barbara); her brother, Paul Collins (Patty); and sisters, Correen Johnson and Tracey Kane (Todd). She was loved and appreciated by her nieces and nephews (11).
Due to capacity restrictions, the in person "Celebration of Life" service will be held privately on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. Please join virtually.
