

Murray Midgett, Jr., 73, died peacefully on June 12, 2021. Asleep in the Lord, awaiting the resurrection, his body will rise in the last day at the return of his Lord Jesus Christ who will give eternal life in the restored paradise of God on this earth according to Yahweh's great and precious promises.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Giordano Midgett; his three children, son Jesse Midgett, son Jonathan Midgett (wife Corina and children Meredith, Jonah, and Gabe), and daughter JoAnna Maney (husband Jacob and sons Shay and Cian); his sister Sandra Howard; his brother Kevin Midgett, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Maxton M. Midgett, Sr. and Elsie Midgett; and his brothers Harry Midgett and Billy Midgett. Murray will be missed by the Christadelphian community, especially the Ecclesia of Hampton Roads.
He was a generous, amiable, skilled craftsman with an eye for detail – a self-employed master plumber who always went beyond “good-enough,” making his work artistic and long-lasting. He also worked at HQ and Lowe's.
He will be remembered for his sincere love, his beautiful singing voice, his heartfelt prayers, his unwavering faith, his easy laugh, his penchant for fun, his enthusiasm for God's word, his bright smile, and his constant willingness to lend a helping hand.
