Patricia Lee Barnette

Our beloved loving wife and mother, Patricia “Pat” Lee White Barnette went home to Jesus on December 5, 2025 at age 87. Patricia was born to Henry and Mildred White on July 15, 1938 in Norfolk, Virginia.

Patricia married her Norview High School sweetheart, Clyde Andrew Barnette—“a match truly made in heaven”—on December 18, 1958. Their love endured for sixty-seven beautiful years. Together they built a life in Virginia Beach, Virginia, raising two daughters, Teresa and Robin.

Patricia lived faithfully in the ways of the Lord, teaching those around her to love, to serve, and to trust in Him always. Cherished by her daughters, she instilled in them the values of compassion, curiosity, creativity, health, and service to others.

Pat found joy in painting, playing tennis, listening to gospel music, watching classic films, and writing poetry. She also delighted in her favorite television shows, M.A.S.H. and Star Trek.

Her unwavering faith in God guided her throughout her life, and she shared that faith generously through kindness, compassion, and steadfast trust in God’s plan. Patricia devoted much of her adult life to the Association of Research and Enlightenment as both a member and lecturer. Remarkably, she was among the last living individuals to have received a childhood reading from Edgar Cayce.

Patricia now rejoins her parents, Henry and Mildred White, and her brother, Dennis White, in Heaven. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Clyde Andrew Barnette; daughter Teresa Carter and her husband Russell, along with grandsons Cameron Carter and Andrew Carter with his wife Lauren; daughter Robin Rene’ Barnette Dunbar and granddaughter Orion Rene’ Dunbar; and nephew Geoffrey White.

Patricia prayed daily and would want to remind us that while her earthly journey has ended, her eternal and beautiful life in God’s kingdom has just begun.
