Patricia Ann Wilkins, 89, of Virginia Beach, VA went to be with the Lord on March 18th, 2022. She peacefully passed away with her family by her side. She was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late Hubert and Ruby Wilbern.
Patsy will be remembered by her family and friends as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She married her beloved husband Tommy Wilkins at the young age of 16, the two remained married for 66 years until Tommy’s death in 2015.
Early in their marriage, Patsy made Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior of her life. Patsy had four children, her eldest son Skip, broke his neck in a water skiing accident at the age of 17 which changed the trajectory of her life. Her relationship with God sustained her, giving her a hope that she was able to share with her family. She worked hard to make home life as normal as possible for everyone while also determined to make sure Skip had a productive and fulfilled life as a quadriplegic.
Patsy was a strong woman who held on tightly to her beliefs in the inerrant Word of God. She was a founding member of Grace Bible Church where she was involved in the church and Women's Bible Studies.
Patsy spent many weekends on Bells Island in Currituck, NC creating lots of memories with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gathering with her family and friends. Patsy was often found in the kitchen cooking delicious meals for the whole family while also singing her favorite hymns. It was not until much later in life that she finally shared her highly regarded secret family recipes. She loved holidays and strived to establish special traditions for each one.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Wilkins, her son, Skip Wilkins, and daughter, Linda Viar.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Karen Ulsh and husband Rob Ulsh; Shirley Sherrill and husband Jimmy Sherrill; daughter-in-law Daphne Wilkins. Grandchildren: Kari Cahoon (Chris), Kati Newman, Kimberly Viar Shaw, Robbie Ulsh (Julie), Ryan Ulsh, Leigh Ann Ulsh, Amy Sherrill, Stacy Fretz (Eric).
