Virginia Beach - It is with great sadness that the family of Rachel "Jean" Elliott announces her passing on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at the age of 85. She was born in Creeksville, NC, the daughter of the late Jacob and Lecie Lassiter. Jean was an active member of Kings Grant Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, William D. Elliott.Jean will be lovingly remembered by her daughters and spouses, Deborah and Michael Pinion, Pattie Matthews, Peggy and Michael Davy, and Linda Elliott and her partner, Jo Ellen Wilson; her grandchildren, Jennifer Rose, Emily Jenkins, Morgan Gridley, Rachel Joyce, David Matthews and Christine Davy; her great-grandchildren, Jacob and Chandler Rose, Lecie Jenkins, and Landon Gridley; her brother, Rocco Lassiter; and sisters-in-law, Betty Lassiter and Mary Elliott.The family will receive friends, Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 9 to 10 am at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A graveside service celebrating Jean's life will begin at 10 am at Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kings Companion's at Kings Grant Baptist Church.
