Shirley Shaver Tillett, 90, passed away on February 8, 2025, in Richmond, Virginia. She was born on January 4, 1935 in Fairmont, WV to the late Virginia Hester Shaver and Robert E. Lee Shaver. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Loren Edward Tillett, Jr. in 2019, a brother, Robert E. Lee Shaver, Jr. and Sister, Audra Shaver Lain.
Mrs. Tillett was a devoted mother, an executive with leading financial institutions during her career, and a volunteer at her church, East Coast Gospel Lighthouse in Norfolk, VA. She mentored and managed numerous employees over the span of 30+ years, conducted family and church events graciously, and consistently put her faith and grandchildren first.
Mrs. Tillett was committed to service to others and always accommodating to family and friends who visited in her home over the years. A tireless cook and organizer, she loved big dinners, holidays and having family all around.
She is survived by her sons Loren Edward Tillett, III and Ronald Lee Tillett (Tina); grandchildren Jennifer Tillett Martin (Ryan), Christopher Ryan Tillett (Katlyn), Allison Leigh Tillett (John), and Robert Daniel Tillett (Belen); and great-grandsons Rylan Jace Tillett and Lucca Tillett. She is also survived by one sister; Phyllis Shaver Miller.
The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
