Thelma G. Sanderson, 95, passed away on March 11, 2021. She was born in Holson, AL to the late Joseph and Minnie Sullivan. Thelma was a property owner and manager of several rental properties in Virginia Beach. In her spare time, she enjoyed working crossword puzzles, volunteering for Diamond Springs Civic League and the USO in her younger days. Thelma was a strong woman, kind to everyone and always happy. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, William Sanderson; daughter Wanda Rohr; and 12 siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Glenda Feldt, William Sanderson and his significant other Dana, Lewis Sanderson and his wife Arobel, and Phillip Sanderson and his wife Linda Lee; 1 sister, Minnie Ola Smith of Gulf Shores, Alabama, 13 grandchildren including Bruce Rohr and Craig Rohr; and 19 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM, on March 16, 2021, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to USO to support America's Service Men and Women.
