Ann Therese (Venagro) Creta, 85 of Cranston, succumbed to Alzheimer’s disease on January, 6th 2025. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Hilda (Riccitelli) Venagro. She was married to Raymond A. Creta for the past 63 years.
Ann was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and went on to earn both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in teaching from Rhode Island College. Besides teaching for 28 years in the Providence school system, she had many interests including reading, cooking, sewing, caring for her perennial garden, travel with her husband and most importantly her family including children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Susan M. (Creta) Strobel and her husband Stephen; Raymond A. Creta Jr and his wife Angela; and Andrew L. Creta and his wife Jennifer. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Raymond and Roxane Strobel, Michael and Matthew Creta, Elizabeth Harris, Nina Creta; and 6 great-grandchildren: Charles and Thomas Strobel, Elisa, Calvin and Luna Creta, and Rayna Harris. She is also survived by her sisters Rosalie (Venagro) Caranci, Marie (Venagro) Del Buono and Sister-In-law Patricia (Blair) Venagro. She was the sister of the late Louis A. Venagro Jr.
Her Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday January 18, 2025 at 10:00 am in Saint Joseph Church, 854 Providence Street, West Warwick. All are welcome to attend Mass to celebrate Ann’s life. Burial will be at the Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery following the mass. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
