

Dorothy (Dotty) Guida, 65, passed away March 30, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born at Fort Monroe, VA to the late Lt. Col. Walter Chamberlain, Jr. and Dorothy Margaret Murphy Chamberlain, she traveled with her family to military assignments in Florida, Texas, and Virginia, before permanently settling in North Kingstown, RI, where she attended elementary, junior and high school. Although she never grew much taller than 5 feet, she was mighty and a star basketball player at NKHS.
After graduating from the University of Rhode Island, she pursued a career in law. She worked as a Senior Paralegal at the law firm of Ciccone, Coughlin & Waldman for 10 years and the law firm of Martinous Law Associates for 30 years. Over her 40-year career, she garnered the respect and appreciation of all who were blessed to work with her. Dotty was beloved by her work family, and she loved them back equally in return. They became lifelong, cherished friends who were at Dotty’s side until the very end.
Dotty was a simple and hardworking woman who enjoyed gardening, home improvement projects, watching old movies, walks on the beach and spending time with her beloved son Gabriel (Gabe). Gabe was her greatest joy and the light of her life. She faced every day with the courage and strength needed to care for a special needs child, remaining positive and patient even on the most difficult days. She was selfless, often putting her own needs aside for others.
Married to Steven Guida for 27 years, his “Dotty Girl” was a faithful and loving wife.They spent many weekends working side-by-side sharing their love of home improvement and landscaping projects.
She is survived by sons Ryan, Evan, and Gabriel Guida and her grandson, Daegan.
She was the beloved sister of Linda Chamberlain Gorski (Rick), Iris Kriege (Reinhard), Val Chamberlain, James Chamberlain, Walter J. Chamberlain III (Brenda), Steven Chamberlain (Pat) and John Chamberlain.
She was the beloved sister-in-law of Robert Guida (Wendy) and Susan Rao (James).
She is survived by nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Dotty's visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 8:30 to 10:15 AM from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick, RI. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick.
