Elizabeth J. Martin

Elizabeth Jane (Kearney) Martin, age 94, passed away January 2, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard A. Martin Sr.

Born in West Rutland, VT, she was 1 of 10 children of the late Patrick and Mary (Moylan) Kearney.

Elizabeth graduated from the Bishop DeGoesbriand Hospital School of Nursing in 1951 in Burlington, VT.

Following graduation she moved to Providence and worked at the VA Hospital for many years. Elizabeth worked part time at the Jane Brown Hospital while raising her family with Richard. The final years of her career were spent doing private duty nursing. She was a very caring, kind, compassionate women.

She is survived by her daughters Patricia Lundin and her husband Michael; Kathryn Sadowski and her husband Kevin; son Richard A. Martin Jr.; grandchildren Jack Lundin, Elizabeth Lundin, Michael Sadowski, Matthew Sadowski, Austin Martin, and Riley Martin; great-grandchildren Chevelle, Remi, Keetley, Chloe, Tommy, Krash, Aubree, and Patrick; and sisters Margaret Kearney, Catherine Eastman, and Theresa Denneny. She was predeceased by her grandson Nicholas Lundin.

Her visitation will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and funeral Friday, January 10, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd, Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mark Church, 9 Garden Ct, Cranston. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
