Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Mathew and Susanne (Feeney) Murphy.
Joan was employed for many years by the Providence Water Supply Water Board.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two sons, David and his wife Debra, Peter and his fiancé Sandra, a daughter, Erin Cannon-Walsh, five grandchildren, whom she enjoyed immensely, James Cannon, and Catherine, David, Liam, and Elizabeth Walsh: and two sisters, Eleanor McGrane, and Evelyn Collins. She was the sister of the late Madeline Davis and Mary Milner.
Funeral Thursday, beginning at 10 am, with a service to follow at 11 am in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. Visitation Wednesday 5-8 pm. Burial will be private.
