

Born in Providence, Michael was the son of the late Edward Joseph Kelly and Catharine Elizabeth (Connors) Kelly. A proud Rhode Islander, Michael spent much of his working life serving the community he loved. He worked for over 30 years at the Amica Mutual Pavilion, formerly the Dunkin’ Donuts Center, in Providence, and as a driver for the Sheraton Hotel in Warwick, RI.
Michael is survived by his longtime companion, Ellen G. Hanley; his sisters, Karen A. Kelly and Kim M. Sarenson and her husband, Michael; his nephew, Matthew D. Sarenson and his wife, Maddison; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved furry friend, Bailey.
A devoted Boston Red Sox fan, he loved talking baseball and rarely missed watching a game on TV. A true jokester with the gift of gab, he never met a stranger and was known for offering hugs instead of handshakes. His humor, warmth, and big heart always left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 pm in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. Funeral Service will be Friday, December 19, 2025 at 12:00 pm in the Funeral Home burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence, RI.
