Barbara L. Haveman

Barbara L. Haveman, aged 85, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 1, 2017.  Born on December 19, 1931 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Peter and Louise (Medendorp) Van Til.  On February 4, 1949, she married the love of her life William J. Haveman who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded by her son, Randall, brothers, Riekel, James (Virginia), Jack, and Glenn, sister Nancy (Peter) Wynsma and sons-in-law, Russell Hinkle and Wes Dykstra.

Barb will be remembered most as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She also loved and was very devoted to her Hanley Church family.

She is survived by her wonderful children Elaine Hinkle, Deb (Don) Dykstra, Louann Dykstra, Bill (Kathy) Haveman, 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  Her siblings Clare (Marilyn) Van Til, Angie (Harry) Basore, Lois Van Til, Wilma Van Til, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Barbara asked for donations to Wings of Hope Hospice or the Hanley CRC Debt Reduction Fund.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 10am until time of service at the Hanley Christian Reformed Church, 372 Jackson St, Grandville, MI 49418.  Private interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MI.
