Lawrence Paul Getzen, aged 75, passed away December 2, 2012 in California. He is survived by children: Michael Getzen, Ann (Kent) Enyart, Mary Ford, and Robert Getzen; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; his beloved friend Sandi Terreri; his sisters: Bobbi (Walt) DeVries and Pat (Al) McCurdy; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Louise Racine. Larry was a graduate of Wayland High School and Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He served in the US Army and was stationed in France. Larry retired from General Motors, and was the former president and treasurer of the Local 488 UAW in Kalamazoo. A funeral service will be 11 A.M. Monday, December 10, 2012, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, 4330 18th St. Dorr, MI 49323. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
