Patrick Shawn Eaton, a devoted father, brother, and entrepreneur, passed away May 26, 2024, at the age of 55, after a courageous battle with Huntington's disease. Born March 2, 1969, in Warrensville Heights, Ohio, he later moved to Brighton, Michigan, and eventually settled in Middleville, Michigan.
As the youngest of three children to Glenda and Herrold (Jim) Eaton, Shawn was a proud graduate of Thornapple Kellogg High School, where he excelled in soccer and developed a strong sense of community. He was an active member of Leighton Church and volunteered his time to help with the AV sound systems and participated in mission trips.
In his free time, Shawn enjoyed playing baseball, soccer, and volleyball. He was an avid outdoorsman, relishing in fishing and hunting outings with friends, church archery, and shooting clay pigeons. He also had a passion for CAD design, although he preferred to spend his time outdoors working on projects. Shawn's entrepreneurial spirit was evident throughout his career. He began working at Ersco and Burgess Concrete before obtaining his builder's license and establishing his own business, Homes by Shawn. He was passionate about building strong relationships and leaving a lasting legacy.
Shawn was also a devoted fan of drinking Mountain Dew, eating chocolate candy and all things MICHIGAN (Go Blue). Shawn lived for his daughter, Faith, and would do anything for her. Faith will always treasure the memories she made with her father, including the joy of exploring the outdoors together and sharing those cold Mountain Dews.
Shawn is preceded in death by his parents Glenda Faye (Johnson) Eaton and Herrold Clayton Eaton. He is survived by his loving daughter, Faith Eaton of Caledonia, Michigan; brother, Herold (James) Eaton and his spouse, Ron Helder of Byron Center, Michigan; and sister, Pamela Parks and her spouse, Ed Parks of Georgia.
A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home located at 312 N. Main St., Wayland, MI 49348, with Pastor David McBride officiating.
