Arnita Sue Walker passed away peacefully on October 19, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her three daughters. Arnita was born on September 30, 1933, in McNeil, Arkansas to JD and Susie Booth. She moved to Texas with her family when she was a young child. Arnita was a long-time resident of League City. She graduated from Webster High School in 1952. Arnita married John C. Walker in October 1953.
She was a self-taught seamstress who became widely known throughout the area and had many long-time customers who relied on her for making everything from clothing to draperies. One of her greatest joys was designing and making her youngest daughter’s wedding gown and, most recently, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, crafting, and playing cards and dominoes with family and friends. John and Arnita enjoyed traveling and loved country music. They went on several cruises, were members of a camping club, and were also members of the Heart of Texas Country Music Association.
Arnita was preceded in death by her parents, JD & Susie Booth, her husband of 65 years, John C. Walker, and her granddaughter, Ashley Garza Flippin. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Kim Walker Garza, husband Al, Tammy Walker, and Tracy Walker Pugh, husband Pete, and her four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
