Berta Tovar

Berta Ozuna Tovar was born on December 31, 1941, in Spofford, Texas. She was a devoted wife to Antonio Tovar and the cherished daughter of Rosa Cruz. Berta was also the beloved mother of Eduardo Tovar and the sister of Carmen Caver, all of whom preceded her in death. She is lovingly remembered by her chosen sons, Bruce (Jacqueline) Caver and Tony (Jennifer) Caver, along with seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, beloved dog Paco, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Affectionately known as Bert or Auntie by her family, and Grandma by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Berta peacefully departed this life on May 8, 2025. Her family will forever remember her unwavering love and dedication. Berta took pride in her roles as a wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She held a deep sense of pride in her ability to stand on her own, embracing her independence as a treasured aspect of her identity. Her strong will shone brightly, reflecting her determination to navigate life's challenges with grace and resilience. This unwavering spirit not only empowered her but also inspired those around her, showcasing a profound love for herself and her journey.

Her generous spirit, kind heart, and loving nature will be deeply missed. Berta's legacy will endure through those she leaves behind, ensuring that she will never be forgotten. Her family finds comfort in the thought of her joyful reunion with Toby, Eddie, Carmen, and Rosa.

A visitation for Berta will be held Friday, May 16, 2025 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm with a funeral service to start at 1:30 pm and a committal to follow. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas.
