A gracious godly woman, Billie Joyce Johnson Jaynes, has joined her heavenly father on February 8, 2021. Billie was preceded by husband, Charles Jaynes, her mother Ida Mae Fuller Potter, and her father Coy Johnson. She was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky on December 8, 1931.
She was a world traveler who had lived in Alaska, Spain, Guatemala, and finally landed in South Houston, Texas. Many of her brothers, sisters, cousins, and mother joined her in the move to Texas in the 1960’s. Preceded in death by Husband – Charles Jaynes, Grandmother – Leona Smith Fuller, Mother – Ida Fuller Potter, Brothers – Joel Martin (Marty) Potter, Fred Webb Potter, Dan Potter, Archie Potter, and Ralph Potter. Survived by Brother – Clark D. Potter, Brother – David T. Potter (adopted), Sisters (adopted) – Annette Y. Potter and Carlene Burkland and Husband, Jake, Sons – Russell Jaynes and Wife, Shelly and Randall Jaynes, Daughters – Glenda Jaynes Clark and Husband, Mike, Gaye Stuchly and Husband, Mike, 18 Grandchildren, 5 Great-grandchildren, along with a host of friends and acquaintances.
Billie was the Aunt to many nieces and nephews who referred to her as Big Nana. Big Nana was known for her home being open for love, shelter, singing, nourishment, and hugs. Her large family and extended family will miss her joyous stories and candid remarks.
Services will be held at Forest Park East, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. Visitation on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. and interment to follow. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the family.
