

Carolyn Sue Stuart, a devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and gifted artist, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, in Houston, Texas. She was 88 years old.
Born on August 31, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas. Carolyn was the cherished daughter of Donald M. Perry and Pauline Van Perry. She grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Alamo Heights High School, where she discovered her lifelong passion for the arts under the mentorship of Dr. Copini—the renowned sculptor of the memorial fountain at the University of Texas.
Carolyn went on to earn an Associate Degree in Fine Arts. It was during high school that she met her future husband, Thomas Stuart. The two later attended the University of Texas together and married in August 1954, beginning a lifetime of love and partnership. Carolyn and Thomas shared 70 wonderful years of marriage, filled with devotion, joy, and enduring commitment.
A talented and prolific artist, Carolyn produced numerous magazine art covers and was widely recognized for her creativity and skill as a painter. She shared her passion for art by teaching both children and adults, inspiring many with her warmth, insight, and imagination.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Stuart; her son, Troy Stuart; grandsons Taylor Stuart and his wife Leah, and Trent Stuart and his wife Amanda; and great-grandchildren Colt, Kinslee, and Miles Stuart.
A visitation for Carolyn will be held Monday, May 12, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A funeral service will occur Monday, May 12, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A committal service will occur Monday, May 12, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. Where family and friends will come together to celebrate Carolyn’s life, legacy, and artistic spirit.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
