Charles loved spending time among family and his many friends, and he never met a stranger. His greatest past time was fishing all over the Gulf Coast - he was one of the best. In later years, most of his time was spent reading the Bible and loving his family.
Charles "The Worm" Gage worked on the docks at the Port of Houston - dedicating 51 years of service to Local 1273 and the I.L.A. Retirees Association. He served as President and continued as President Emeritus to the I.L.A. Retirees Association for 25 years. He was a devoted leader both loved and admired by many colleagues and their families.
Charles is preceded in death by Peggy, his wife for 45 years; parents, Howard and Mary Gage; brother, Bill Gage; and, sister, Ruth Dupree.
Charles is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Lewis. Children: Charles H. Gage, Jr., Cindy Gage, Becky Knape and husband Allan, Bobbie Gourley and husband Chuck and Lynette Gage and Kevin Lanterman Grandchildren: Trevor, Carly, Kellie, Chip, Jimmy, Casey, Jeff, Wes and Wade and 13 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Charles will be held Monday, February 22, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service and committal, starting at 10:00 a.m. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery in Webster.
