

Col. Dean R. Hanson, 72, of League City, TX passed away peacefully July 21, 2017 following complications after open heart surgery. Born May 18, 1945 in The District of Columbia (Washington, D.C). Dean was preceded in death by his parents Bradley Hanson and Beverly (Kimes) Hanson. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 25 years, Deborah Chrissinger, a step brother Brian Kimes and his wife Kathy from Rockville Maryland, numerous friends and his Army and Church family.
Dean graduated in 1968 from Virginia Tech with a BS Degree in Economics. After signing up for the US Army in 1969, he was sent to boot camp in Ft Dix NJ then to OCS in Ft Benning, GA.. This was just the start of a long career with the US military ending it in 2002 with the 75th Division Army Reserves in Houston TX retiring as a Colonel.
Dean’s civilian career was with HL&P as a Service / Power Consultant for 32-years. He retired from there March 2004, when he started working again with the military trough Northrop Gunman Technical Service as a part time Systems Analyst (Cell Controller) in Ft Leavenworth, KS.
Throughout his working career with HL&P, Dean was active and involved with several organizations to include; Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, Director with South Houston Chamber of Commerce, Director Pasadena Rotary South, North Pasadena Business Association, Pasadena Citizen Advisory Council, University Rotary and a two term board member of the Galleria Chamber of Commerce.
Dean enjoyed surfing and sailing in his spare time and was an active member in TASS and Texas Mariners Cruising Association. He also was a member of the Clear Lake Area Ski Club.
He was preceded in death by both parents.
Dean is survived by his wife Deborah and step-brother Brian Kimes and his wife Kathy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, TX 77598 with a Celebration of Life to follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Park East Cemetery.
