He is survived by his loving wife Grace of 56 years; his children Veronica Smith and husband Larry, Sue Eckenrode, and Dennis Eckenrode Jr. Grandchildren; Jason Smith and wife Krystle, Toni Reid and husband Jason, John Henry Akagi and wife Jamie, Joey Akagi and wife Lauryn, Courtney Terry, Haley Hackbarth, Jacob Eckenrode, Dylan Eckenrode, and Leah Eckenrode. Great-Grandchildren; Parker, Wade, and Reed Smith, Kami and Hadley Reid, Addison and Easton Akagi, Sophie and Bailey Akagi, Carly and Kimber Terry, and Liam Grubb.
He worked as a Movie Projectionist and a Stage Hand at Houston Local Unions for about 45 years. His favorite pass time was playing Poker and now he is "All In".
He was a Mentor to many and touched so many lives. He never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
