

Dickey Ray French, age 81 of Friendswood, TX was called to his eternal heavenly home on Sunday morning, October 28, 2018. Born March 10, 1937 in Houston, TX, the son of the late Willard Thomas and Jerry Fay French.
Dickey is survived by his loving wife of 60+ years, Shirley Brown French; along with two children, Son Mark Ray French and wife Sandra Elaine of Magnolia, TX, Daughter Denise Michelle Kenny and husband Phil of Placitas, NM. Grandson Logan French and wife Veronica, Granddaughter Tara French. Great granddaughter Minerva French. Niece Mindy Andrasek and husband Ryan. Niece Lisa French. Nephew Torrey Blocker. Great nieces Ainsley and Payton Andrasek. Great nephew Hunter Blocker. Brother-in-law Tom Blocker. As well as many fantastic, loving friends.
Dickey was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He graduated from Pasadena High School and attended the University of Houston until joining his father at French Grinding Service. He later became sole owner and operator of French Grinding Service until his retirement in 2009. He served in the Texas Air National Guard at Ellington Field and was a member of the South Houston Masonic Lodge. Dickey and Shirley are members of South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena, TX.
Visitation will be held 6-8pm, Tuesday, October 30th at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598.
Celebration service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, October 31st at South Main Baptist Church at 4300 E Sam Houston Pkwy S, Pasadena, TX 77505.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam may be sent to the Deacon Fund at South Main Baptist Church or MD Anderson Cancer Center.
