Doris Worsham Stewart,100 years old, of Webster, Texas, entered the gates of Heaven on December 17, 2025. She was born on November 10, 1925, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Nina and Locket Worsham. At the early age of 15, she met her future husband, David Stewart. They married in 1946, and the Lord blessed them with four children. They were married 59 years before his passing.
Doris graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport and Meadows Draughan Business College. While waiting for David to return from the war, she was employed at Tri-State Bus Co., Southern Trailways, and Ouachita Parish Girl Scout Council. After many years as a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Doris refreshed her skills and worked at Gates Data Center/Exxon Law Department and as a contract employee for IBM.
Doris loved the Lord and was always active in her church. Through the years, she held various positions in church from Nursery Coordinator on up. She was a charter member of Texas Avenue Baptist Church in League City and, later, active at University Baptist Church. Doris cherished close friendships with the dear ladies in her UBC JOY Bible Study Class and always enjoyed the Prime Timers events for UBC seniors.
Above all, Doris loved her family and made sure she instilled in her children the meaning of “Love one another.” She was always a loving wife, a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a gracious friend. Doris lived out her faith and inspired many with her desire to live a life that reflected God’s love. Even though her last months were challenging, Doris remained mentally sharp and quick-witted, and she never forgot her Southern manners. She was a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Nina and Locket Worsham; husband, David Stewart; son, Steve Stewart; and son-in-law, Mark Wohlgemuth.
Doris is survived by her children, Nina Hanks, Peggy Wohlgemuth, and Jim Stewart (Jennifer); grandchildren Zach Stewart, Holly Ramsey (Rob), Steven Hanks (Monica), Allison Alexander (Warren), Laura Sandt (Pablo Maigua), Lindsey Wohlgemuth (Dimitar Karaytckev), Kyle Wohlgemuth (Jennifer), Brian Stewart (Afton), Ashley Ralph (Johnny), and Jacquelyn Stamper (Austin); and great-grandchildren Caroline and Noelle Ramsey, Thomas Alexander, William and Emerson Sandt, Sonora and Mira Karaytckev, Brixton and Juniper Stewart, and Mason and Logan Ralph; as well as her sister-in-law, Katherine Stewart Lester, daughter-in-law, Cindy Stewart Wiegand, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
