Earline Helen (Mathisen) Best, 92, of San Leon, Texas, passed away Thursday, June 8th, 2017. She was born in Aransas Pass, Texas on December 5, 1924 to Bertha and Henery Mathisen. She worked for Schlumberger, Lockeed, Champion Paper and Sears.
Earline was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 8566. She had a passion for playing Mrs. Clause for the VFW, helping kids read, making Christmas stockings and cross stitching.
She was preceded in death by husbands Walter Rodocker and Jack Best; sons Robert Charles Rodocker and Walter Earl Rodocker; grandsons Brian Rodocker, Blake McKenna and Shannon Brandon, and all eleven siblings.
She is survived by sons Ralph and Otto Johnson; daughters Mary Brandon and Mattie Best; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren; twenty-five great great-grandchildren. Not bad for a shrimpers’ daughter.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home with interment to immediately follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
